ELECTRONIC PUBLIC CONSULTATION - Civil Engineering Projects

Public access to the internet continues to grow, as governments place increasing economic and socital importance on its availability. Mobile web access has also increased dramatically over the last few years with the advent of multimedia smart phones. This increasing general availability of the internet offers a very dynamic communication link with the communities affected by the engineering projects civil engineers implement. The internet is an ideal tool through which to channel public consultation processes (known as 'Electronic Public Consultation'(EPC)), as well as information about scheme works during construction.

Working at Babtie Group, I have developed EPC systems to enhance the information services we deliver to clients, and the public. The internet is used alongside traditional 'snap shot' consultation methods (leafleting, exhibitions, and press notices), and delivers many advantages.  For more information and example public consultation / information websites for highway schemes in Bedfordshire, click the link below.
